Shoghi Effendi: The Range and Power of His Pen by Mr. ‘Alí Nakhjávání
This book, the result of a course given by Mr. Nakhjavani in Acuto Italy in February 2006 considers “the wide range of the works of Shoghi Effendi, both in English and in Persian/ Arabic, and cast a panoramic and cursory glance over the contents of each of his major writings. The beloved Guardian, in the course of his blessed ministry, provided the friends and the general public with a reliable survey of the significant and historical Bahá’í events of the Heroic Age, an overview of the stages enabling the current Administrative Order of the Faith to become the nucleus and pattern of the future institutions of world society, and a unique and authentic translation into English of the fundamental Writings of the Founder of the Faith. Through the power of his inspired pen Shoghi Effendi also succeeded in carrying the Community of the Most Great Name from its modest and rudimentary beginnings to a stage of development enabling it to be a potent instrument, well-equipped to realize and put into effect the exalted ideals which distinguish the divine message of Bahá’u’lláh.”

Selections from the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh for Bahá’í Holy Days
Excerpt from the Preface of this new book:
“The present volume offers forty-five selections from the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh revealed specifically for, or otherwise relating to, these nine Holy Days. The selections represent different revelatory modes, each reflecting facets of the greatness, the preciousness, and the peerless nature of this Day in which all the promises and prophecies of the past have been fulfilled—this sacred Day “whereon God hath made His own Self known and revealed it unto all who are in the heavens and on earth”. Some of the Tablets and excerpts presented in the volume are addressed to the body of Bahá’u’lláh’s followers and are expressed in a celebratory and uplifting tone, occasionally with repeated refrains, while others were revealed to individual believers, sometimes with a mention of the specific circumstances of their revelation or the names of the recipients. Many are among His best-known works and have long been familiar to readers of His Writings in the original languages….
It is hoped that this volume will uplift the hearts and souls of the followers of the Blessed Beauty throughout the world and will enrich the gatherings they hold in commemoration of those days that stand apart from all other days through their association with Him and His Herald.”

The Divine Art of LivingFebruary 27, 2016
Yesterday, we brought you John Huddleston’s The Earth is But One Country. Today, we added The Divine Art of Living, a “collection of jewels from the Bahá’í Sacred Writings [which offer] guidance that can help us learn to become less harried, less caught up in the fruitless, self-destructive pursuits that pull us away from our spiritual path… [and] help us find the way to peace and harmony … [so that we] begin to experience and enjoy the truly divine art of living.
Happy Ayyam-i-HaFebruary 26, 2016
To start the celebrations for the first day of Ayyam-i-Ha, we bring you John Huddleston’s The Earth is But One Country. In John’s own words, this book shows “how the Bahá’í Faith meets the needs of humanity today, and how it is building up what is believed will be a new world-wide civilization in which all peoples can live together in justice, harmony, and peace. The emphasis is on the practical means to this end as well as on the dream.”
For many of us, this was our first introduction to the Bahá’í Faith and it remains as relevant now as when it was first written. This is the third revised edition from 1996.
We also bring you completely reformatted versions of Bahá’u’lláh’s The Seven Valleys, the Four Valleys, Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh revealed after the Kitáb-i-Aqdas and Epistle to the Son of the Wolf.
Added Two New eBooksJune 13, 2015
This Decisive Hour is a collection of letters and cablegrams written by Shoghi Effendi to the North American Bahá’í community from 1932 to 1946, originally published under the title Messages to America. This eBook has a number of additional letters that were not included in the previous compilation.
The Desire of the World first written by Rúhíyyíh Khánum in the 1930s, revised in 1982 with a second edition published in 2005, offers the readers examples of how to contemplate and gain insights from the Sacred Writings. Khanum asks us, if Bahá’u’lláh “expressed one truth in many ways, why should we not contemplate it in a similar way?”
Prescription for LivingMay 12, 2015
Prescription for Living, written by Amatu’l-Bahá Rúḥíyyih Khánum was first published in 1950. It was subsequently revised in 1978. The subject of this book is man’s present unhappiness, confusion and uncertainty with the book’s aim, as the title states, to provide the reader with a prescription for living. As Rúḥíyyih Khánum states in the Foreword to her book:
“When a person is ill he takes medicine. We individuals are the members of a very sick species–man; living in a very unhealthy environment–society. There are laws of what we might call “inner hygiene” which, if obeyed, will assist us to regain our moral and spiritual health personally, and, through changing us as the components of society, enable our joint lives to be happier and better in every respect. Those laws are dealt with briefly in this book…”
